Stand with Lauren's family to bring awareness to Battered Woman Syndrome.
Lauren Johansen was a kind, compassionate soul whose life was tragically cut short. A dedicated nursing student, animal rescuer, and devoted daughter, Lauren was always the first to help others—even tending to her father’s injuries with gentle care and reassuring words. Her bright future and loving heart were stolen from her in an act of senseless violence.
Lauren’s story is a painful reminder of the realities faced by countless women suffering from Battered Woman Syndrome (BWS). Despite clear warning signs and a consistent pattern of escalating abuse, the system failed her. Over 51 errors and more than 100 people were involved in the tragic mishandling of her case. Yet, due to tort reform in Tennessee, the maximum compensation for wrongful death is capped at just $300,000—far less than the true value of a life lost.
We are fighting for justice—not just for Lauren, but for all women trapped in the cycle of abuse. The government and its agencies have failed to hold themselves accountable. We need your help to challenge this broken system, raise awareness, and demand change.
Every donation supports our campaign for Lauren’s Law, bringing us closer to justice and helping to break the cycle of domestic violence. We urge you to share Lauren’s story and reach out to anyone who can help—friends, family, or philanthropists.
Together, we can ensure that victims are heard, abusers are held accountable, and the cycle of Battered Woman Syndrome is finally broken.
